The Magic Show
a community-generated art project providing a creative focus during these topsy turvy days.
It's a Saturday morning and it's pouring with rain, again. The phone beeps. It's a friend, someone who has become a great support to the Collective.
She's reaching out as she's had an idea! Her words begin to paint a picture of a creative community project, one open to all ages - simple, poetic, poignant.
There are many reasons why this simple call meant the world to the Lighthouse team. Firstly, it came at a time when the collective has been busy developing different ways we can operate in response to COVID-19, reflecting on how we can support our community while keeping everyone safe. In amongst the uncertainty of this time - our community offered a helping hand in the form of this beautiful project. One which promotes community connection and provides a hopeful and creative focus during lockdown. Not to mention the helpful support it offers, with all proceeds raised being donated to assist the collective in navigating this challenging time.
At the heart of it, we saw it as a beautiful celebration of the culture of New Hall, one we have all had a hand in creating and one that moves us deeply.
So without further ado and with hearts full of hope, Lighthouse Arts Collective presents to you:
